About Black Hills Equestrian Center
Black Hills Equestrian Center is owned and operated by Sarina Jensen, and her two little helpers: Preston who is 6, and Bella Rae who is 5...a real family operation.
Sarina grew up on a farm and ranch in Bridgeport, Nebraska. She attended college in Powell, Wyoming where she completed a degree in Equine Science and Training. She also holds a degree in Equine Business, and is certified in Deep Tissue Equine Massage Therapy. After college she gave up her rodeo life for one in the AQHA show ring where she showed her mare, Mo Bettah Blaze, in: Western Pleasure, Western Horsemanship, Showmanship, English Equitation, Hunter Under Saddle, and Trail.
While continuing to show, she worked for a large scale cutting horse operation in Crawford, Nebraska and then worked for World Champion Trainer Sue Sultze in Bow, Washington; riding all-around horses and working cow horses.
She then moved back to Nebraska to start her own training facility. After a couple of years she made the decision to move her operation to Spearfish, South Dakota, where she has been for the past 5 years. Black Hills Equestrian Center is now going full speed, giving horseback riding lessons, horsemanship clinics, horse training, women's retreats, and putting on kid's horse camps for people in the northern Black Hills and throughout South Dakota.
